The Branding Iron Restaurant is an historical icon in Merced. The restaurant first opened its doors in 1952, holding homage to California’s rich ranching history by decorating its facility with over 200 cattle brands. The 50 year-old neon sign of a cowboy branding a calf flanks the restaurant and has been designated a historical landmark by the City of Merced.
